CPRS
(version française) The depth of activity and dedication of our CPRS volunteers never ceases to amaze me — it’s breathtaking! Underway are numerous projects worthy of mention that advance our professional association. We like to shine the spotlight on prize events like the National Conference or the Awards of Excellence that appear to lift off the page like a well-rehearsed script. There’s so much more than meets the eye. Did you know there is a Local Advisory Committee who have come together to guide the direction of 2020 National Conference in historic Québec City: May 24-26, 2020? They have our full confidence and we wait with bated breath for the reveal of the professional development and events program. A salute to Daniel Granger ARP FSCRP for helping pull the team together. Are you interested in being a conference presenter? Workshop proposals are now being accepted. Click here.

I’ve hired and worked with more than a handful of public relations agencies over the past 15 years.
I fired them all within a year or so.
It’s not that they were bad. Quite the opposite. They all came highly recommended. Some of the best in the industry. They were doing their best, but I believe it’s the typical public relations (PR) model that’s broken — or at least in need of evolving. The market has moved on and, based on what I’ve seen, the PR industry has yet to adjust.

If I were running PETA, the first rule I'd impose: no more celebrity feuds.
On Day 1, I'd call the staff into the boardroom and be like, "Hey, you gecko-hugging maniacs! From now on, when a movie star shows up on a red carpet in a fur coat, we don't say squat. You feel me? If a singer wants a pet chimp, we look the other way. There are millions of animals around the world that desperately need our help and shaming celebrities is a pointless sideshow that detracts from this important work."
