CodeLab is a web-based learning tool providing hundreds of interactive programming exercises for introductory classes. It supports multiple languages and integrates with environments like Canvas and Moodle. Over 300,000 students at more than 400 schools in 20+ countries have used CodeLab to gain mastery over the syntax, semantics, and common usage patterns of the language elements.

Mississippi has a plan to get computer science into 100% of its schools

In March, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves signed into law the Mississippi Computer Science and Cyber Education Equality Act, requiring all public schools in Mississippi to offer computer science education by the 2024–2025 school year.
The bill lays out a phased-in approach for the mandated implementation and included $1 million in state funding for computer science education and was matched with an additional $1 million with private funding from C Spire.

On May 19, 2022, NGA Chairman Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson joined a bipartisan group of five other Governors, with 11 Governors’ offices represented overall, for a convening in Boston to discuss connections between K-12 computer science education and the workforce. Education and industry experts joined Governors and First Spouses to discuss the 21st century workforce, Girls Who Code afterschool programs, and bipartisan strategies to bolster K-12 computer science education across the country.

Children from low-income backgrounds have fewer opportunities, such as exposure to blocks, to discover or develop their spatial intelligence. This continues throughout K-12 education, as schools and districts that predominantly enroll Black and/or Hispanic students and are located in low-income areas struggle to provide science labs, hands-on activities and other resources necessary for high-quality STEM learning.
