The CS education landscape continues to evolve, and we want to hear directly from teachers about your experiences, challenges, and what resources would be most useful to you at this time. Rebooting computer science education: GSE faculty research informs new computer science teacher preparation program
University at Buffalo
The University at Buffalo’s Graduate School of Education will offer one of the first computer science teacher preparation programs in New York State. Pending approval from the New York State Education Department, the program is expected to enroll its first cohort of students in 2023.
The program seeks to reshape curriculum, perspectives and access relating to K-12 computer science education. Students in the program will gain an in-depth understanding of computer science content knowledge and effective teaching and leadership practices.

Want to spark students' interest in STEM? Initiative brings parents into that effort

Programs like Remake Learning Days are especially important at a time when there is a vast talent gap in the STEM industry. Jobs in STEM fields are expected to grow twice as fast as those in non-STEM fields, and millions of STEM jobs are expected to go unfilled in the near future, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Research has also found that Black, Hispanic, and female workers are underrepresented in STEM professions.

MassRobotics expanding STEM programming with $100,000 Cummings Grant

MassRobotics is one of 140 Massachusetts nonprofits to receive a grant through Cummings Foundation's $25 Million Grant Program. The non-profit will use these funds to provide young women, especially Black and Latinx girls, a direct pathway to transform an interest in STEM to a passion and career in STEM, especially in robotics and artificial intelligence.
