Each year, a panel of employee assistance experts reviews and decides which presentations will be given at the upcoming EAP Conference and EXPO. The 2019 conference will be held at the amazing St. Louis Union Station Hotel in St. Louis Missouri, Sept. 25 - 27, 2019, (Pre-Conference Training Courses: Sept. 23 - 24; EXPO: Sept. 24 - 26.) The committee is looking for individuals working in external, internal and labor EA settings in the US and other countries to represent the diversity of EAPA's membership. You must be an EAPA member to serve. If you are interested in participating, email t.slawinski@eapassn.org no later than COB of Friday, Feb. 15. Include a brief description of your current and previous roles as an EA professional and state your reason for wanting to serve on this committee.

Emerging research discovers loneliness is more prevalent than expected and may wax and wane throughout an adult’s life.
Although feeling lonely is linked to a host of mental and physical issues, investigators did not discover an association with serious illness and found that wisdom appears to mitigate loneliness.
While many believe loneliness is becoming epidemic, investigators at University of California San Diego School of Medicine discovered moderate to severe loneliness persisted across the adult lifespan, but was particularly acute during three age periods: late-20s, mid-50s and late-80s.
