Darren Heitner writes: The attention paid to Nike's workplace environment has not gone away since May 7, when I wrote about four lessons on how to handle complaints about toxic culture based on actions by Nike CEO Mark Parker. Since then, five additional executives have left the company, bringing the number of exits since claims of sexual harassment arose to a total of 12 people.
There is no questioning the power of the #MeToo Movement, which has required all brands to look within their corporate culture and change as necessary to be in front of sexual discrimination issues.

Employee assistance programs are some of the most prevalent benefits offered by employers.
EAPs are also among the most underutilized. Proof: More than 90 percent of employers offered an EAP in 2016, but nearly half of those companies reported an EAP utilization rate of 6 percent or less.
Just 28 percent said they had a utilization rate of 7 percent or higher. And an alarming 23 percent didn’t even know what their EAP utilization rate was. These finding come from a recent study on mental health benefits by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

Walmart is expanding its Opioid Stewardship Initiative, introducing additional measures this week in an effort to further curb opioid abuse.
