Florida balks at insurance navigators as Obamacare deadline nears

Boston hospital launches clinical trial of long-lasting local anesthetic

Boston Children's Hospital has received Investigational New Drug approval from the Food and Drug Administration for neosaxitoxin, a new local anesthetic derived from cyanobacteria being developed in partnership with Proteus SA, of Santiago, Chile. With the IND approval in hand, the hospital has launched a Phase I clinical study in healthy volunteers.

Florida Hospital enters health insurance business
Orlando Sentinel
In October, Florida Hospital will launch into the health insurance business, executives announced. In partnership with Health First Health Plans, the hospital system expects ultimately to offer both Medicare and private health insurance in as many as 11 central Florida counties.
