Polk Sheriff Grady Judd: 92 arrested in prostitution roundup

The suspects either responded to online ads posted by undercover detectives posing as prostitutes, or they were prostitutes themselves who posted ads and came to the undercover location, offering their services. Among those arrested was Samuel Yoon, 45, of California. He is a youth counselor who thought he would be meeting a 14-year-old girl.

Escambia County Sheriff's Office hosting Florida Leadership Academy

Manatee County Sheriff's Office seizes 179 pounds of synthetic marijuana

While some customers walked in for soda and cigarettes at two Shell stations in Manatee County, Fla., deputies say others have been walking out with packets of synthetic drugs. A photographer with the sheriff's office caught the bust on video, showing drawers filled with packets behind the counter. The video also shows plastic bags and bins filled with the product in a hallway.

Jailhouse farms feed Florida inmates, guards

Feeding prisoners can be costly, so one county in Florida has found a way to save taxpayers money. The Marion County Sheriff's Office has started four inmate labor farms across the Ocala area. About two dozen nonviolent offenders provide the labor, while deputies oversee daily operations.

Florida sheriff's K-9 nabs kidnapping suspect
The Bradenton Herald
Victor Alarcon, 30, was arrested after he forced his girlfriend and her children into a car, drove them around Palmetto and Bradenton, released them and then lead deputies in a chase, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. A police dog chased and "immediately apprehended" Alarcon after he abandoned his car. The K-9 was not injured.

President Obama pays tribute to fallen law enforcement officers at Capitol

President Obama offered tribute to law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty at the U.S. Capitol, urging Americans "to live our lives in a way that pays tribute to their memory."
