Sheriff’s offices across the state are focus on making dangerous intersections a little safer. From April 9th through May 6th the Florida Sheriffs Association task force hosted Operation Hot Spot. During the operation, more than 5300 warnings a citation were given and 146 people were arrested.

Citrus County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives conducted the largest heroin bust in county history Friday morning. Cocaine, a quarter ounce of meth, marijuana, approximately $3,500 in cash and 50 grams of heroin were recovered from the home. The street value of the heroin is estimated around $10,000. Fifty grams of heroin requires a minimum 25-year sentence if convicted.
