Manatee's Sheriff Steube announces retirement

Sheriff Brad Steube announced that he will retire effective at the end of his current term in January 2017. Sheriff Steube has been Sheriff of Manatee County since 2007 , when he was appointed to the position after the retirement of Sheriff Charlie Wells. Sheriff Steube was reelected in 2008 and 2012.

Deputies arrest 16 online predators in 'Operation Mirage'

An undercover operation in Panama City Beach lead to law enforcement arresting 16 men who deputies said tried to have sex with minors. As part of "Operation Mirage," deputies posed as minors and chatted with the predators online.

Hernando Sheriff offers 'safe zones' for transactions

'Grandparent' scam wreaking havoc across Southwest Florida

Grandparents beware: there's a new telephone scam making the rounds and it's directed at Southwest Florida. The Lee County Sheriff's Office Fraud Line says they have seen an increase in calls during July reporting a telephone scam, or as it’s commonly called the "Grandparent Scam."
