The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is expected to run a series of training exercises around Port Tampa Bay. "These drills are reflective of the unified effort that would absolutely come about should there be an actual threat at Port Tampa Bay. No one team works alone in the real world and that is why it is imperative that they work together in training," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "Port Tampa Bay is a big part of our economy and therefore a target for anyone wanting to do us harm. Being prepared by practicing on site is a big step towards our readiness."

"You can be nefarious on the dark web, or you can be noble," Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said. Last month, the Sheriff's Office arrested three local people suspected of running a drug ring through the dark web. A total of 2.8 pounds of cocaine and 4 pounds of methamphetamine were confiscated following a search warrant and all of the contraband was linked to the three suspects. Additionally, several vials of testosterone and an unreleased amount of cash also were seized, deputies said.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office Tuesday announced the arrests of 13 men as part of Operation Cyber Guardian, Fall Haul, a sting targeting men detectives said were traveling to Polk County to have sex with 13- and 14-year-old children. There was a total of 58 charges — 57 of which were felonies. "We kept your children and our children safe from these folks who, in the last week thought 'A-ha! I got me a child,'" Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said Tuesday. "Well, a-ha, you got a jail cell."
