Panel considers cost to state of marijuana proposal

Sarrah Carroll, assistant executive director of operations with the Florida Sheriffs Association, said efforts to eradicate prescription-drug pill mills could be undone by legalizing the medical use of marijuana. "We don't want to replace pill mills with pot shops in Florida," Carroll said.

Escaped Florida killers surrender after escaping with forged documents

Two convicted murderers who escaped from a Florida prison by using forged release papers have surrendered at a Panama City, Fla., hotel where they were surrounded by police, law enforcement said. The capture of the two men came just hours after family members held a news conference to plead with them to surrender.

Okaloosa County prescription drug take back event on Oct. 26

Martin County Sheriff's Office honored for pillowcase burglary arrests
