"Our hearts go out to Eveline Aguilar’s family members who have continually sought justice for Eveline," said Sheriff Dennis Lemma. "Thanks to the dedication and persistence from our Major Crimes and Forensic Units, and our partners from FDLE and Knoxville PD, we have taken this dangerous criminal off the streets."

From March 1: Three people have been arrested and a string of 25 burglaries and a vehicle theft solved, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday. “Thanks to a simple traffic stop and an astute deputy, we got a big break that, at this point, has resulted in the arrests of three people for as many as 25 car burglaries and a motor vehicle theft,” Sheriff Grady Judd said.

The arrest occurred after the Sheriff's Office was alerted to the attempted theft by a local convenience store employee who advised that there were a suspicious suspect and van at the gas pump. A vehicle description and tag were provided to Agents Justin Wood and Megan Lane of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office Economic Crimes Unit. The agents, who were in the immediate area stopped the vehicle after it was observed traveling on Wickham Road in Melbourne.

Authorities rounded up another gaggle of alleged drug dealers for the new season, dubbing the latest bust "Operation Spring MAYhem." There are now at least 19 fewer drug dealers on Lee County streets than there were three months ago when the investigation started, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
