The IAPSC Forensic Committee updated our research on Security Officer Deterrence. We last did this in 2010. Specifically, we asked Phyllis Schultze, the librarian at Rutgers, to provide all research regarding Police and/or Security Officer deterrence and prevention capabilities for preventing violent crime (murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault) and assault. The Bibliography and Studies are the result of this effort.

May 8, 2018 – Atlantic City, NJ - As part of the New Jersey Association for Justice Boardwalk Seminar, Murray Associates president Kevin D. Murray will present a session entitled, “Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) & Cell Phone Security.”
Eavesdropping, wiretapping, snooping, voyeurism, and espionage are covert activities. The victim rarely knows when it happens. Kevin D. Murray explores the world of corporate espionage, explaining how many companies are bleeding profits for lack of a counterespionage strategy. Regularly scheduled TSCM inspections narrow the window-of-vulnerability, spot new security loopholes, identify decaying security measures and practices, disrupt the spy’s intelligence collection phase, and keep counterespionage awareness levels elevated.

The blockbuster education lineup for Global Security Exchange (GSX), formerly known as the ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits, presents attendees the opportunity to dive deep into the most pressing issues facing security professionals today.
“This is a record-setting year,” says Nancy Green, ASIS International Vice President of Learning. “We received a staggering 700+ proposals for our call for presentations, and our program lineup features more than 300 sessions led by ASIS, InfraGard, and ISSA subject matter experts. This enthusiastic response mirrors the excitement we’ve received from security professionals across the globe about the enhancements we’re making to GSX.”
Choose from sessions covering topics like AI-driven security operations; ransomware; the psychology of radicalization; security for events and mass gatherings; Dark Web investigations; and a compelling keynote from Internet of Things futurist Scott Klososky.
The learning extends beyond the classroom with educational theaters on the show floor that offer problem-centric, outcome-focused discussions delivered by the world’s brightest security minds, available even to those who attend with a free expo-only pass.
GSX takes place September 23-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To view the GSX program lineup, visit www.gsx.org/sessions. For other event details or to register, visit https://www.gsx.org.
