Joseph Pangaro is a retired Police Lieutenant from the Township of Ocean, Monmouth County, NJ. During his 27 year career, Lieutenant Pangaro served in many capacities. After nine years as a patrol officer, he was transferred to the detective bureau where he served for 12 years. Recognizing the need for police training programs to be more current, hands-on and simulate real life situations, he started Pangaro Training. The many courses written by Lt. Pangaro all have practical exercises including field and role-playing components. Complementing the on-site training, Joseph Pangaro is currently developing a website, with online training courses under the name Pangaro Global.

In the near future, text-to-911 will be widely available in the United States, and while it has not yet arrived in Central Illinois, local police officials say they welcome the new technology.
“I think 911 texting is a good idea,” said McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage. “It could be beneficial in domestic violence situations when the victim is afraid to make a call. It also would benefit those who are hearing impaired and do not have access to a TTY phone.” According to the Federal Communications Commission, there are about 650 dispatch centers — roughly 10 percent — nationwide that can accept text messages.

Federal officials said that they are expanding tests to speed up airport lines and improve security.
In a first in the U.S., the Transportation Security Administration said Tuesday that it plans to begin using computed-tomography or CT scanners to inspect carry-on bags at one checkpoint in the Phoenix airport by the end of the year.

Transportation Security Administration misconduct is threatening the security of the flying public, according to a report released by the House Homeland Security committee.
After a six-month investigation the report on the agency shows that misconduct grew by almost 29 percent from fiscal year 2013 to 2015, according to TSA data. And while the number of misconduct allegations has increased, TSA has conducted fewer investigations into misconduct and taken fewer disciplinary actions against employees.
