Should LGBT travelers visit hostile places?
Travel Weekly
LGBT travelers take between five and seven trips a year. One survey found that 71 percent of gay U.S. respondents possessed valid passports, as opposed to 25 percent of the total population. Many LGBT travelers have ample disposable income. Yet for those who travel internationally, the world can seem polarized into gay-welcoming and gay-hostile environments.

Discussing travel budgets with prospective clients
    By Anne Rose
Are your clients always honest in their response to your question, "What kind of budget have you allocated for this vacation?" Mine aren't. Sometimes it's simply ignorance about how much something will cost. But other times, it's mistrust and suspicion. The budget based on ignorance is fairly easy to address. If clients tell me they have never traveled before, but they want first-class air to Tahiti from the East Coast, 10 nights at a luxury five-star resort and an array of private activities with a stated budget of $2,000, I can easily point out the realities of what they're asking for. I find the suspicious prospective clients a bit more challenging.

Charleston Yeager hoping for growth as first new flight takes off
    By Matt Falcus
Yeager Airport in West Virginia is hoping the start of a new airline route will mark a return to growth and more services in the near future. The airport serves the Charleston, the capital and largest city in West Virginia, with a population of around 220,000 in the metropolitan area. In 2012 and 2013, Yeager lost scheduled services by two airlines on routes with healthy passenger loads. Therefore, it was with a sense of triumph that the Central West Virginia Regional Airport Authority watched the first Dash 8 aircraft on the new US Airways Express service to Philadelphia arrive recently.
