Liverpool Pride, the U.K.'s biggest free Pride festival outside of London, makes its third annual outing on 4 August with a "Nautical but Nice" theme. A flotilla of fabulous acts will take to stages on Liverpool's iconic Waterfront and in the city's Stanley Street Quarter, including Liverpool's own Marcus Collins, Liz McClarnon of international girl band Atomic Kitten and The Only Way is Essex' Jessica Wright. Uganda said it was banning 38 non-governmental organizations it accuses of promoting homosexuality and recruiting children. Last year, Gideons International distributed more than 84 million printed copies of the Bible around the world to students, hospitals, members of the military and, of course, hotels, where they are a ubiquitous sight in bedside tables. Starting this month, however, the InterContinental Hotels Group is modernizing that mission at one of its hotels, replacing the paper tomes with electronic versions of the Bible loaded on Kindle e-readers.
