| Attend an LGBTQ Ski Event |
Are you a winter sports or outdoor adventure fan? Why not consider adding an LGBTQ ski event to your travel calendar this year? Most commonly called Gay Ski Weeks, there are numerous events held across North America, Europe and even in Australia and New Zealand. These events come in all shapes and sizes ranging from around 100 attendees up to several thousand. The longest-running event in the U.S. is Aspen Gay Ski Week, which takes place from 13 - 20 January. You can find events in Canada like Whistler Pride and Ski Festival (20 – 27 January) and if you're living in Europe or want to make a long-haul trip, consider attending Arosa Gay Ski Week in the Swiss Alps (19- 26 January), now in its 15th year and attracting more than 500 attendees.

 I remember a story that we were told while growing up about the Europeans who came to our motherland in the search for colonization. They wandered and roamed our land like butterflies, or at least with little sense of direction. In amazement, our forefathers then referred to them as Mzungu. This Swahilli word is loosely translated as wanderer. Today we still refer to white people as Mzungu. But as they wandered on, they saw the wonder that is in Uganda.
