Milan is Italy's second largest city and is famous for its monuments and thousand-year-old history. Beyond the historic offerings, the city is well known for fashion, art and design but also has Italy's largest and most visible LGBTQ scene. You won't find a central gayborhood in Milan but there are a few venues on the aptly named "Gay Street" on via Sammartini, located next to Milan's main train station. During the day, visitors can't miss The Duomo, a 15th-century cathedral in the heart of the city, considered Milan’s most famous landmark. Other top attractions include the Scala Opera House or the Museo del Novecento, Milan’s contemporary art museum with a selection of more than 400 artworks. In one of Italy's sleekest and most fashionable shopping districts, you'll find the Four Seasons Milan, a 15th-century convent transformed into an urban sanctuary of luxury and comfort. Get caught in Milan's excitement and attractions by day and fall asleep to soothing breezes and quiet serenity at night. Taste some of the world's best wines and also shop in one of the world's top fashion capitals. The Four Seasons Milan is a proud IGLTA member and can share insider travel tips to make your stay in this exciting Italian city more memorable. Are you a winter sports or outdoor adventure fan? Why not consider adding an LGBTQ ski event to your travel calendar this year? Most commonly called "Gay Ski Weeks," there are numerous events held across North America, Europe and even in New Zealand (1 September). These events come in all shapes and sizes ranging from around 100 attendees up to several thousand. The longest running event in the U.S. is Aspen Gay Ski Week, which takes place from 14 - 21 January. You can find several events in Canada including Whistler Pride and Ski Festival (21 – 28 January) and Jasper Pride Festival (19 - 22 April). If you're living in Europe or want to make a long-haul trip, consider attending Arosa Gay Ski Week in the Swiss Alps (21- 28 January), now in its 14th year and attracting more than 500 attendees.

Ask almost any LGBTQ travelers if they've been mislabeled — maybe as straight, as cisgender or as buddies traveling together instead of as a married couple — and you're likely to get a whole list of examples.
Given the small percentage that our community represents compared with the rest of society, it may be understandable. You could even argue that people should be forgiven for not being quite up to speed on societal norms, which have evolved rapidly over the past decade.

Another laptop ban may be on its way.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is campaigning to stop passengers on international flights from placing laptops and other large electronic devices in their checked bags because of fire concerns.
