Did you make more money in 2013?
Or was your pay as "skinny" as it was in 2012? Do you even still have a job? Or are you looking for a new one? Are you happy at work? It's that time of year again when the IoPP Annual Salary Survey asks you to give us your take on your own personal economy. The 2014 survey addresses how today's economy impacts your career and how you feel your job has evolved (or not) during the past year; if you feel secure in your position; and if you're moving upward or backward. You should be able to participate in this year's survey quickly, but anticipate taking 5-10 minutes to complete. Survey closes Friday, Feb. 28.

Pharmaceutical packaging market worth $78.79 billion by 2018
The global pharmaceutical packaging market is dominated by North America, Europe, and Japan accounting for more than 70 percent of the overall market in 2012. Within the North America, U.S. will remain the largest consumer of pharmaceutical packaging. Country wise, U.S. is the top most consumer of pharmaceutical product globally and is also the largest market for pharmaceutical packaging products growing at a CAGR lower than the global average till 2018. Study finds aesthetics in food packaging as important as brand names
A University of Calgary study suggests wrapping food up in a pretty package is as likely to influence a child's food choice as a brand name like McDonald's
Professor Charlene Elliott's study builds on one done by Stanford University a few years ago.
The Stanford study found that preschoolers thought foods wrapped in a McDonald's wrapper tasted better than the identical food presented in a plain wrapper. Children in the study even preferred the taste of carrots wrapped in McDonald's wrapping.
Appeal to the subconscious through package design
Aesthetically pleasing packaging is nice to look at, but it doesn't always necessarily connect with its audience or sell product. If it did, many brands wouldn't be losing traction in category after category at retail. In order to make effective brand-to-consumer connections — for packaging to work as an effective branding tool — the correct triggers have to be leveraged.
Store Brands 2014: Packaging with a purpose
Fiber mushroom trays and cardboard laundry detergent bottles are among the vessels Safeway is using to reduce the environmental footprint of its store brand packaging. While most mushroom trays are sold in foam containers, which are not biodegradable, the supplier of mushrooms sold under the Safeway Farms and O Organics brands developed a new recyclable and compostable fiber mushroom tray.
