IoPP's Fundamentals course launching in Australia in 2020

IoPP announces that the Australian Institute of Packaging's Board of Directors has approved the launch of IoPP's Fundamentals of Packaging Technology in-person course program in Australia beginning in 2020. This partnership will mark the first time the Fundamentals in-person program has been taught on another continent, and there is potential for the in-person course program to spread to additional countries in the future.

Ball Corporation has announced plans to build its first dedicated aluminum cups manufacturing facility to serve the growing demand for sustainable beverage packaging.
The facility will be adjacent to the company’s existing aluminum beverage can manufacturing plant in Rome, Georgia, the U.S. and is expected to ramp up production in the fourth quarter of 2020.

A 2,000-foot-long floating boom designed by Dutch scientists has successfully retrieved ocean plastic from the Pacific Ocean for the first time. The system floats on the surface and has a 10-foot-deep screen underneath, which collects some of the 1.8 tons of plastic without disturbing any marine life. It also features satellite communications and sensors to transmit its position to a separate ship that will collect the gathered ocean plastic every few months.
