Scientists say 2014 warmest year since 1880

According to two separate analyses by NASA and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists, 2014 ranks as Earth’s warmest since 1880. The 10 warmest years in the instrumental record, with the exception of 1998, have now occurred since 2000. This trend continues a long-term warming of the planet, according to an analysis of surface temperature measurements by scientists at NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies in New York.

Pantone marsala plants to grow

Marsala, an earthy, wine-red color, is the Pantone Color Institute’s 2015 Color of the Year. The company says Marsala is a color that “enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability.” Media reaction to the color has been mixed, but that hasn’t stopped plant breeders and growers from using the 2015 Color of the Year for creative marketing to showcase plants with Marsala hues.
