Rare apple found In Michigan

A very rare piece of fruit recently was discovered by an employee at Schweitzer Orchards in Sparta, Michigan. The Rome apple was approximately one-quarter red and three-quarters green and is called a chimera apple. Nick Schweitzer, manager at Schweitzer Orchards tells WOOD-TV the green portion of the apple is a Rome apple, and the red portion is an early spur Rome apple and is the result of a genetic mutation.

Commentary: Government wants farmers to quit farming

It seems that U.S. companies would follow the unprecedented action of Japan’s equivalent to Wal-Mart if they could figure out how to force farmers to quit farming their land and let the companies grow food crops exactly as they think is “sustainable agriculture.” Bloomberg news service reported that Japan’s Aeon Co. plans to become Japan’s largest rice grower by leasing 100 hectares of rice production land from farmers in conjunction with a Japanese government plan.

Writing the letter that gets you more referrals

What's the best way to get more referral business? It's by writing a thank-you letter. Here's how it works: First, you get a referral. I know — I'm as surprised as you are, but sometimes it happens. Someone liked you, and somewhere down the line they passed on some good words to a new customer or prospect who calls you. To encourage them to refer you again and again, send them a "thank you for your referral" letter. Why? First, your thank-you letter elevates you from the silent majority — you know, the people who never bothered to express their appreciation for receiving a referral.

HubSpot CEO discusses the new approach to online marketing
