California duals demo smaller than proposed,
yet size concerns remain

InsideHealthPolicy.com
California's demonstration to integrate the care for beneficiaries dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid will enroll up to 456,000 beneficiaries and, in a new development, will cap the number of duals in Los Angeles County that can be placed in the demo at 200,000, a decision the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services confirms was made in large part because of stakeholder concerns over the demonstration's size.

Tight Medicaid eligibility leads to more adults delaying care
Kaiser Health News

The research letter in the journal found this number varies significantly across the country and is lower in places with less restrictive eligibility criteria for Medicaid.
