In Memoriam: Erling Hansen, consultant for Quadrus and MHPA Individual Member, 1948-2011 Share ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On Thursday, July 21, 2011, Erling Hansen, died peacefully and surrounded by family at home in Washington, D.C., after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Erling was born in Drobak, Norway, in 1948, attended Hamilton College and law school at Syracuse University. He was one of the nation's most prominent lawyers of America's growing managed health care industry. An avid boater, he was fond of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and once crewed on a sailboat that crossed the Atlantic ocean. Erling will be missed, both as an ardent supporter of MHPA and as a dear friend. A Mass celebrating his life will be offered Saturday, Aug. 6, 1 p.m. at All Souls Memorial Episcopal Church, 2300 Cathedral Ave., N.W. Washington, D.C., 20008.
