According to insurers and the White house, delaying the deadline could undermine efforts to lure a broad, young and healthy mix of consumers to the market. That would end up costing insurers — and possibly taxpayers — money.

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey has announced that Erhardt H. L. Preitauer has been named to the new position of senior vice president of government programs, effective Oct. 29. In this role, Mr. Preitauer will manage Horizon BCBSNJ's Medicare and Medigap businesses and also serve as chief executive officer of Horizon NJ Health, the state's largest Medicaid plan. He will report to Kevin Conlin, executive vice president of healthcare management.
