The healthcare system in New York is looking to optimize care and reduce costs by partnering with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to integrate Medicaid and Medicare services and funding for dual eligibles, according to recommendations from the New York State Department of Health.

The Arizona Court of Appeals denied an appeal to block cuts to the Arizona Medicaid program, upholding a lower-court ruling even as it said the judge used flawed reasoning. The three-judge panel said whether lawmakers had "available funds" to supplement the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System was a political decision, not a legal one.
