New York proposes Medicare-Medicaid integration

The healthcare system in New York is looking to optimize care and reduce costs by partnering with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to integrate Medicaid and Medicare services and funding for dual eligibles, according to recommendations from the New York State Department of Health. HMS a wholly owned subsidiary of HMS Holdings Corp., announced that is has been awarded a contract by the State of Louisiana, Department of Health and Hospitals, to provide third party liability identification and recovery services. The Arizona Court of Appeals denied an appeal to block cuts to the Arizona Medicaid program, upholding a lower-court ruling even as it said the judge used flawed reasoning.
