That was before the novel coronavirus threw a wrench in her work prospects and caused her to her worry about what she would do if she caught it.With no insurance, going back to her last job at a restaurant would mean risking illness, then debt, then the parade of collector calls, court hearings and wage garnishment.

Missouri: Advocates see gains under Medicaid expansion

Missouri voters, enough of whom petitioned to put Medicaid expansion on the ballot, will vote Aug. 2 whether to extend healthcare coverage to Missourians who lack it. If approved by voters, Amendment 2 would expand Medicaid eligibility to adults between 19 and 65 whose annual income is up up 133% of the federal poverty level. In 2020, that's about $36,100 for a household of four. Currently, Missourians who make about $3,600 or less are eligible.

Oklahoma Medicaid enrollment reaches new monthly highs amid pandemic
The Oklahoman
Medicaid enrollment in Oklahoma reached new highs in May and June, driven by widespread job losses and federal action meant to prevent states from dropping people from the health coverage. Enrollment in SoonerCare, the state's Medicaid program, jumped to 865,851 in June. That was up by more than 32,500 from May, which was up about 11,500 from April.

HHS renews public health emergency, allowing waivers, Medicaid increase to remain in play

With the expiration of the public health emergency declaration just two days away, the federal government on Thursday renewed the declaration for the pandemic, a welcome move for long-term care providers. The upheld declaration, which now will expire at the end of October, allows a slew of waivers for long-term care providers, including the suspension of three-day prior hospital stay and the relaxation of telehealth restrictions, to continue, and maintains increased Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAP).

Bids are due Sept. 4, with a new PBM selected later this year.
