Virginia to get additional federal boost for Medicaid costs as state looks to next budget

    Suit by hospitals over Virginia Medicaid emergency budget cuts is dismissed

    A federal judge on Wednesday dismissed a suit filed in July by hospitals and physicians over emergency Medicaid budget cuts they said will cost them $55 million in reduced payments for emergency room visits this year amid the pandemic. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson, ruling on a motion from the state to dismiss the suit, held that the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association and other organizations did not have standing to have the court bar the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services from enforcing emergency cuts enacted by the General Assembly in April.

    Kansas changing Medicaid application processing contractor

Sam Brownback's administration hired Maximus to make the application process more efficient.     Kentucky launches new 'Kynect' site as a one-stop, online site for health and other benefits

    "Kynect" is back, repurposed as a one-stop, online shop for Kentucky people to apply for Medicaid and a host of other resources such as food and child care assistance, job training and help for the elderly and people with disabilities. Gov. Andy Beshear announced the launch of the state website Monday, initially created under his father, former Gov. Steve Beshear, as a state-run site where people could shop for health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act.
