Which of our graduates’ career plans reflect your own?

Have you thought about continuing your education in social work? Let’s take a moment to imagine what it would be like for graduation to be right around the corner. Just like you, our 2019 graduates were once nervous and excited to get started. Now, after finishing their courses, our online and on-ground students are eager to put their education and trained skills to work. We asked where they intend to start making an impact:

“I would love to work with veterans and individuals with mental illness after graduation. I am excited to use my MSW to help others in my community!”
— Alexandra Gustafson
"My dream is to be a family therapist to provide mental health services to underserved children, youth, and adults. A few years ago, I did not think it would be possible, but with UNE and family support, it was possible to accomplish."
— Sergio Alberto Ilbanez

“With my MSW degree, I intend on furthering my career in child protection. In addition, my hope is to return to my alma mater and teach a social work class at the bachelor level. I am looking forward to new opportunity and professional growth now that I have earned my MSW.”
— Nicole Petrin
“I plan to use my degree to be a social worker that is there to assist individuals with improving their lifestyles for self-dependency and positive well-being. I am most excited about practicing what I have learned in the community and to continue to gain valuable education from hands-on experiences to improve my skills.”
— Shauna Camper

No matter where they go, Alexandra, Sergio, Nicole, and Shauna are prepared and ready to make a positive difference in their communities. You can do the same—if you aren’t already! Whether you’re interested in taking an individual course for continuing education or earning your MSW, the University of New England can help you help others.
