The 10 best spas in America
Business Insider
Summer is a time to relax on the beach, drink something fruity out of a coconut and indulge in a massage.
But instead of squeezing in a measly back rub between your sunbathing, why not plan your whole vacation around it? Condé Nast Traveler came out with a voter-based list of the best spas across America.
Spas and salons see increase in 'manscaping' business
WFSB-TV
With summer set to arrive in a couple of months, salons and spas said they've seen an increase in business, but not from women.
They said a lot of men have been knocking on their doors.
Many people call it "manscaping." "Manscaping is removing unwanted hair from the arms, shoulder, back, full leg, stomach and eyebrow," said Maria DeBartlo, owner of the Body and Sole Day Spa in West Hartford, Conn. Employees at the Body and Sole Day Spa said it's done there often.
What is neem oil?
Mother Nature Network
Pressed from the fruits, twigs and seeds of the neem tree, neem — also known as Indian lilac — is a widespread evergreen in the Indian subcontinent that has been used for thousands of years as a part of ayurvedic medicine. "Most commonly used in skin and hair care products in both India and Bangladesh, neem oil is touted for its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and anti-parasitic properties," says Alexis Wolfer, beauty expert, nutritionist and creator of The Beauty Bean, an online beauty magazine.
"I obtained my cosmetology license in the State of New Jersey upon moving here from Europe. The difference between cosmetology and skin care is that to work on skin, you need more education. Thank you to the NCEA for giving me the opportunity for the highest credential in the United States. I recommend every skin care specialist to want to be at a higher level to become NCEA Certified."

Achieving business goals via marketing strategy
By Karin Roberts
The link between business objectives and marketing strategy may seem obvious, but the two are often disconnected in real life. Profit-line managers may see marketing as a basket of distinct services — such as ads, trade show displays and public relations — from which to select to help them reach their sales goals. While a manager may request a new trade show exhibit to generate sales leads, for example, a marketing strategy based on measurable business objectives and solid market research should come first in order to design an exhibit that will communicate the right messages to the right markets.

What CrossFit teaches us about pricing
By Marc Wayshak
Walk into any CrossFit gym, and you'll probably hear loud music blasting over the grunts of CrossFitters pushing their bodies well past what most would consider possible. They often train so hard they can hardly stand by the end of their workouts. Regardless of your athletic ability, though, CrossFit has a few lessons in store for you. In fact, all small business owners would be wise to learn a thing or two about pricing from the CrossFit business model. Consider this: CrossFit gyms typically charge two to five times more than typical gyms.
Why small businesses should be utilizing customer-loyalty programs
Entrepreneur
The philosophy behind a customer loyalty program is simple: Repeat customers are rewarded and businesses increase sales. It's a basic, but powerful strategy.
Whether the goal is to continually increase sales or to jumpstart sluggish revenue, customer-loyalty programs appear to have become a staple for many large corporations. But what about small businesses?

10 steps for avoiding teacher burnout
Edutopia
"Why did I want to be a teacher?" We all face burnout, sometimes on a daily basis. Most of the time, we can pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off and go back to the drawing board to try another strategy to find success with student learning. Sometimes, though, it can become more and more difficult to make that transition back to a willingness to want to try again. One may want to think students are more difficult than they used to be a few years ago, and pressures from accountability are becoming more oppressive. And of course, the pay for teachers is inadequate. With all of this we may ask, is it worth it?
