Make the connection
Les Nouvelles Esthétiques & Spa

This was not always the case. The historical origins of spa are found in balneum centers, where people gathered to benefit from the healing waters. The key element of the experience was also community.

By D. Albert Brannen
Every manager and supervisor wants their employees to trust them. Earning trust is difficult, but once it exists in a relationship, the sky is the limit. Employees who trust their superiors are more satisfied, productive and innovative. They are also less likely to feel a need to be represented by a union, file lawsuits against their employers and probably even work safer. So, how does one earn the trust of employees? Are float spas making a comeback?
WCAU-TV
Allen Hughes said the concept of floatation therapy took a long time to sink in.

Getting students to do the reading
Faculty Focus
Getting students to do their assigned reading is a struggle. Most teachers don't need anyone to tell them what the research pretty consistently reports. On any given day, only 20 to 30 percent of the students arrive at class having done the reading. Faculty are using a variety of approaches to up that percentage: quizzes, assignments that require some sort of written response to the reading, reading journals, a variety of optional reading support materials and calling on students to answer questions about the reading. Which of these approaches work best?
A spectrum: How to make learning visible
Teach Thought
What students say and do and create are products of thought processes that, more or less, are predictable — and of significant potential if we can make those processes visible.
