The NJ Assembly passed legislation May 26 to create a task force to review the state's drinking water sources. It cleared the Assembly in a 64-0 vote.

The Legislature looked into fixing New Jersey's solar industry, but precisely where and whether it needs mending seemed uncertain by the day's end.
In an echo of a bill passed four years ago, the Senate Environment and Energy Committee adopted a measure (S-2276) aimed at averting a potential crash of the sector due to declining state mandates governing how much electricity must be generated by solar systems.

With the Transportation Trust Fund set to run dry by summer's end, legislators are scrambling to find a solution that will replace the state's annual transportation budget of $1.6 billion.
One of the proposed solutions would increase the state's gasoline tax by 20 to 40 cents per gallon. The gasoline tax currently in place is priced at 14.5 cents per gallon. New Jersey has not seen a gasoline tax increase in 28 years and has the second lowest gasoline tax in the country.
