This brings U.S. citizen overseas travel to 29.6 million in the first 10 months of the year, up seven percent for the year (this excludes travel to Mexico and Canada).

Chinese New Year, one of the year's busiest travel periods for the world's largest travel market, will likely be a stronger holiday for Chinese travelers this month than it was last year.
That's particularly evident with Europe which suffered multiple terrorist attacks in Paris, Brussels and Istanbul, for example, last year that kept many travelers away, according to data released by ForwardKeys, a tourism data company, which analyzed 16 million Chinese flight bookings for January and February.

China's domestic tourism industry earned about 3.9 trillion yuan (about 563.6 billion U.S. dollars) in 2016, up 14 percent year on year, official statistics showed recently.
Domestic tourists made 4.44 billion trips last year, an increase of 11 percent, the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) said
Inbound trips rose 3.8 percent to 138 million and outbound trips increased 4.3 percent to 122 million.

Visitors to Bath who stay overnight may soon be made to pay a tourist tax in addition to the basic room rate and VAT.
A Conservative councillor, Charles Gerrish, told BBC Radio Bristol that the local council is considering the introduction of a "tourist bed tax" for hotels and B&Bs to help shore up the finances of Bath and North East Somerset. The council is faced with £37 million in cuts over the next five years.

With the help of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and a stronger U.S. dollar, Brazil increased the number of foreign tourist entering the country to a record number of 6.6 million international visitors in 2016, according to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism. The record represents an increase of 4.8 percent over 2015, the equivalent of about 300,000 more foreign visitors. In total, foreign tourist injected US$6.2 billion into the national economy, the equivalent to more than R$21 billion.
