NADA outlines voluntary fair credit compliance program
Wards Auto
NADA has proposed a voluntary fair-credit compliance program calling for the establishment of a preset amount of compensation for arranging indirect financing. The proposal allows for downward adjustments depending on circumstances including a customer's inability to satisfy a monthly payment constraint at the predetermined amount, access to a more favorable credit offer from another lender, a financing promotional offer a dealer extends to all customers or a particular transaction being eligible for a special interest rate from a finance company or other third party. The program is intended to address concerns of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Michigan RV dealer expands thanks to increase in discretionary income
Grand Rapids Business Journal
Grand Rapids-based American RV, an RVDA member, is expecting 2014 to be a good year for RV sales — so good that the dealership is expanding its display lot by five acres and expects to add staff before the summer season hits. The return of a healthier economy, more disposable income and pent-up demand are fueling this growth, says general manager Chad Neff. Low interest rates and stable commodity pricing are also helping the RV industry, he says. "Our inventories are the highest that they've ever been — as far as rolling inventory, our RV stock is up," Neff said.

A new paradigm for older workers
By Michael J. Berens
Results of a recent Gallup study show that large numbers of baby boomers plan to continue working well past the current average retirement age of 61 and even past the traditional retirement age of 65. This is good and bad news for organizational leaders — good because older workers are valuable employees, bad because many organizations don't know what to do with older workers as they seek to increase opportunities for talented younger employees.
