Bowlus travel trailer is so retro-cool it hurts
Wired
Think there's nothing better than a vintage Airstream, that old-school Twinkie-shaped camper that defines Americana? Think again. The Bowlus Road Chief is even cooler, and it's coming back. The original Road Chief dates to the 1930s and was created by Hawley Bowlus, the aviation designer who brought us the Spirit of St. Louis. Now a husband-and-wife team of tech entrepreneurs have bought the rights and patents and are launching an updated version. It's got a vintage vibe, but the inside is thoroughly modern with features like Wi-Fi and solar panels.

Country singer gets start in travel trailer
Examiner.com
Country singer/songwriter Brian Davis says the early days of his music career were "crazy and awesome all at the same time." The then-24-year-old had just moved to Nashville, Tenn., and didn't have the money or desire to tie himself down with a house. "I was out on the road a lot playing the honkytonks," he recalls. "A buddy of mine had just bought a brand new 35 foot travel trailer. I thought to myself that was exactly what I needed — just set one up in the trailer park. I lived in a travel trailer in Nashville for four years. It was one of the best times in my life. My buddies and I were so poor that we couldn't afford the heat. We basically heated the thing with a hair dryer."

RVs getting more fuel-efficient
San Antonio Express-News
Like many RV shoppers, Helen and Weldon Lack don't want to have to buy a special towing vehicle to pull their home-away-from-home down the highway. They already own a half-ton pickup, so they're looking for an RV that's lightweight but spacious for cross-country road trips and weekend getaways to San Luis Pass. And RVs are getting smaller, lighter, more aerodynamic and more fuel-efficient.

If you have an RV, you can keep on camping in the winter with electricity
The Idaho Statesman
The outside temperature was around 30 degrees, and a blanket of snow put a deep silence on the Idaho campground, but this intrepid RVer stayed snug and cozy inside his 70-degree camper with the help of his electric heater. Idaho has state parks that provide electric hookups all winter, and it's a sure-fire way to enjoy camping during colder months, he says.
