The tow-along trailer goes posh
MarketWatch
An internationally renowned designer of multimillion-dollar super-yachts is turning his sleek, modernist aesthetic and love of luxurious materials to travel trailers. Mauro Micheli is designing high-end interiors for Airstream that feature teak and white wood flooring, blond wood cabinetry, minimal hardware, and big windows. When Airstream officials brainstormed with dealers about ideas for a new top-of-the-line model, "references to yachts kept coming up," says Bruce Bannister, vice president for product development.

Prices at pump fueling dismay
Reading Eagle
The national average price of a gallon of gas has gone up 49 cents since Jan. 17, reaching $3.78, according to AAA. That's a record for the date. But industry analysts and economists don't think we'll see $4-a-gallon gas this year. And though people might think the RV industry takes a big hit in times of high gas prices, one dealer says that's a misconception. "We're not totally immune to gas prices but we're not as affected as most people think," says Mark Bodnar, sales manager at RVDA member Tom Schaeffer's RV Super Store of Perry Township, PA.

Rented RV helps dying man fulfill lifetime dream of going to Daytona 500
Yahoo Sports
Cancer patient Mitch Zannette was told he had maybe a week left to live. The lifelong NASCAR fan knew exactly how he wanted to spend the time. He immediately rented an RV and, accompanied by his family, headed to Florida to see the Daytona 500. He made it to the track, went to the beach, met Miss Sprint Cup and drank some beers. And on Feb. 21, three days before the race, he died happily in the infield.

What $1.2 trillion looks like in small business terms
The Washington Post
If sequestration takes effect on March 1, the federal government must start making cuts that will slash spending over the next decade by $1.2 trillion. What does that kind of money look like in small-business terms? It's enough to cover the payrolls for every small business in the country for six months, or for every small employer to add five new $40,000-a-year employees for a full year.

Are Google AdWords Offer Extensions right for small businesses?
Small Business Trends
Google is rolling out a new AdWords feature that allows businesses to add a discount offer or coupon to a standard Google search ad. When browsers click on a business's offer, they're taken to a landing page showing the offer's details. From there, they can print the offer or coupon to use in-store. Small businesses will benefit from the lower cost, compared to using Groupon or Living Social, and from the ability to measure the effect of online advertising on in-store purchases.
