Help RVDA protect dealer-assisted financing
RVDA
RVDA Chairman Jeff Hirsch is asking members to help the association protect dealer-assisted financing by contributing to the RVDA Advocacy Fund. In a special membership alert, Hirsch warned that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is, in the words of the media, "gunning for dealer reserve." Dealers need to "do whatever we can to fight back on this issue," says Hirsch. "This could lead to participation in a paid media campaign, contributions to help fund an industry study, additional advocacy efforts with lawmakers or even legal action. RVDA needs your support now."

RV sales continue to rebound
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Sales of travel trailers and motorhomes have rebounded to some of their strongest levels in six years as consumers feel more confident about their personal wealth. For the first three months of 2013, motorhome shipments were up 34 percent from a year earlier, according to a report from Robert W. Baird & Co., while shipments of travel trailers and fifth wheel trailers were up about 15 percent. Low interest rates, stable fuel prices, and pent-up demand have helped boost sales. In fact, with so much pent-up demand left from the recession, people who aren't worried about losing their jobs aren't going to put purchases on hold much longer, say some RV dealers.

Since Christmas, they've been converting a 2012 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van into a mobile medical clinic that will be staffed by a team of doctors and nurses who will provide care to 23,000 Haitians. Employees have spent hundreds of hours of their own time to fit the RV with exam beds, consultation rooms, custom built cabinets for medical equipment and a diesel generator.
