The RV industry currently is "in a sweet spot from all standpoints, whether it be demographics, popularity, or a push for more physical activities," according to Forest River Inc. General Manager Doug Gaeddert, who participated in the recent RV Industry Power Breakfast at the RV/MH Hall of Fame. RV leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including the current sales boom and the labor and delivery challenges.

National Get Outdoors Day is June 14
American Recreation Coalition
Participants from federal agencies, nonprofit organizations and the recreation industry are again teaming up to host the seventh annual National Get Outdoors Day to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun at sites across the nation. On Saturday, June 14, these diverse partners will offer opportunities for American families to experience traditional and non-traditional types of outdoor activities. The goal is to encourage first-time visitors to public lands and to reconnect young people to the great outdoors.

National insurance broker Brown & Brown has acquired the assets of two agencies specializing in the RV market — Agency Management Corp. and its affiliate, Recreational Protection Management Inc., both of Bradenton, FL. AMC provides extended vehicle service contracts, appearance protection, gap protection, roadside assistance protection, tire/wheel protection, and other similar products to RV dealerships and their customers throughout the southeastern United States, and RPI offers personal lines, property/casualty insurance products and services for recreational vehicles.

GE to open global oil and gas research hub in Oklahoma
GE Reports
GE broke ground on May 12 on a $125 million oil and gas research hub in Oklahoma. GE Oil & Gas is the company's most dynamic business. GE has invested $14 billion in the unit since 2007 and plans to triple R&D spending in the sector over the next three years. The Oklahoma hub will join a global network of seven other GE research centers located India, China, Germany, Brazil and the United States.
