Workhorse says it plans to resume RV chassis production
PRWeb
With RV demand growing stronger, Workhorse said it plans to begin production of Class A motorhome RV chassis at its Union City, IN, plant. Plans call for delivery of RV chassis sometime this year. "Our RV manufacturing customers have always relied on the dependability and performance of the Workhorse RV chassis," says Stoney Steenekamp, president of AMP Trucks Inc., a subsidiary of Workhorse Group Inc. "Today, we believe the RV market is strong once again. With the growing demand we have recently seen, it just made sense for us to begin entering back into production."

Travel trailers become time machines
Santa Maria Times
As Americans climbed out of the Great Depression in the 1930s, yearning for the freedom of the open road behind the wheel of a new generation of automobiles, many developed a love affair with the travel trailer. Trailers allowed people to venture into the great outdoors while hauling along all the comforts of home, and by the 1950s, travel trailers were a common sight on U.S. highways and byways. Vintage travel trailers still have their fans today, as evidenced by the more than 315 units pulled into Pismo Coast Village RV Resort by modern "tin-can tourists” for a three-day rally, the largest of its kind in the nation.

More RV owners travel with pets
The New York Times
Retirees and other pet owners have become more demanding in recent years, expecting businesses that cater to them to also serve their pets. The change is apparent at RV parks and campgrounds, where just providing a dog run is no longer enough. "In the last five years or so, they’ve started investing capital in dog parks, agility courses, sticks and tubes, and doggy washing stations," says Debbie Sipe, executive director of the California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds. Moreover, half of KOA's facilities now have "Kamp K-9s" that include off-leash areas and agility courses.

By Emma Fitzpatrick
Bad news: Goldfish have longer attention spans than most humans. A Microsoft study shows that since 2000, the average human attention span has dropped from 12 seconds to a mere eight — one second shorter than that of a goldfish. The biggest factor is the phenomenal growth in smartphone use. The question for businesses becomes how to get and keep consumers’ attention.
