What if your business outlives you?
Fox Business
One of the biggest mistakes small business owners make is not having a succession plan. The owner is often too busy to think about what ifs. "I find a lot of small business owners, especially ones who are looking to their children or a key employee to take over, don't plan for it, don't train for it and don't even ask if the person is interested,” says Janice Cackowski, a wealth advisor at Strategic Wealth Partners.

Are you really offering good customer service?
Business 2 Community
"Customer service" needs to be redefined in the digital age. For starters, it now begins with your website. In the past, there were only two ways for customers to interact with businesses — via a call or a visit. Now they expect to be able to call, email, tweet, or visit in person. But they'll go to your site first to find out which options are available. Make sure it offers them an outlet for calling or emailing a human being when their questions just aren't covered by any of the existing information.
