CFPB says it will issue white paper on vehicle finance methodology
CFPB Monitor
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray's semi-annual report to Congress last week yielded this information: The bureau will issue a white paper later this summer regarding its use of the proxy methodology for identifying discrimination in indirect vehicle financing. In March 2013, the CFPB issued a bulletin to banks and finance companies that purchase motor vehicle installment sales contracts that, under existing law, any dealer finance charge participation may violate the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B. Since that time, industry and lawmakers have been pressing the CFPB to explain how it determines that practices that are neutral on their face are nonetheless discriminatory.

Camping nowadays likely involves gadgets and Wi-Fi
Lancaster Online
Lots of campers take their electronic gadgets with them into the woods, but other families have rules to avoid them. Cathy Joerger and her husband bring their phones, but the laptops and tablets stay at home. The family has a rule: The television in their camper doesn't go on unless it’s a rainy, dreary night or they need to watch the news because something has happened. "(Camping is) good family time," she says. "It makes you talk to each other without any kind of interruption from electronics in general."

Please read these 297 words

People spend about 10 seconds on a webpage and can consume about 50 words in that time. Don't make them read a lengthy dissertation to get the valuable nuggets. It’s not necessarily easier to write fewer words, though. It takes a lot of editing time and true talent to write something really short that's worth reading. But the shorter it is, the more people will read it.
