RVDA convention line-up features new speakers, new ideas
RVDA
This year's convention/expo promises something new for everyone, no matter what dealership department they're in. Case in point: Fixed-operations consultant Don Tipton, a first-time presenter, will discuss "What Service Measurables Really Mean" during a workshop on Thursday, Nov. 13. Tipton started working at a young age with his dad in the parts and service department of a Chevrolet dealership. Over the years, he held management positions in small, single-point stores and large, multi-location companies. Now he has his own fixed-operations consulting firm. More workshops will be announced soon for the convention, slated for Nov. 10-14, at Bally's on the Las Vegas Strip.

2014 Ram Power Wagon: This workhorse wants to have fun
St. Louis Dispatch
When characterizing the 2014 Ram Power Wagon, we can think of no more elegant description than that provided in the film "Christmas Vacation" by the legendary Cousin Eddie: "Uhhh ... that there's an RV." Although Eddie wasn't speaking of the Power Wagon, he may as well have been. Based on the Ram heavy-duty 2500 Crew Cab 4x4, this bruiser will pull, tow and haul like the heavy-duty truck it is. It features a bevy of standard equipment designed to get you to that hopelessly remote campsite, favorite off-the-map hunting locale or uncharted fishing spot, all the while ensuring you'll make it back home over that moonscape return trail.

Navigating the national parks with digital guides
The New York Times
It wasn't long ago that a trip to a national park meant packing books, paper maps, a guide to help identify plants and wildlife, and tools like a compass. Now apps can help with all these things. Perhaps the best national parks app for the United States is the free National Parks by National Geographic guide, which has the high production values we have come to expect from National Geographic. It has lush photography, well-written text and is easy to use, thanks to well-designed menus.
