Just how many RVs will you see on a cross-country trip?
The Elkhart Truth
That question had a surprising answer on a recent trip from Colorado to Indiana. While driving along the Interstate highways, RVs naturally catch the eye of someone from north central Indiana, since 83 percent of all recreational vehicles in North America are built in and around Elkhart County. Keeping a tally of every RV along the way showed a surprising trend.

RV, boat, off-road vehicle sales surge in new economy
Great Falls Tribune
When the full depth and extent of the Great Recession became clear in 2008, few industries dried up faster than recreational motor sports — RVs, boats and ATVs. The calculus was simple: If the national economy was in doubt and your investment portfolio had taken a dive, if you owed more on your home than it was worth and unemployment rates were spiking, then you probably didn't spend on a new boat or RV. But after five years, the recreational/motor sports industry is in resurgence.

A surge in big pickup sales
PickupTrucks.com
CNW Research has been collecting data on pickup truck sales for several decades, breaking down the sales into five major categories: appearance, contractor, fleet, RV tow and farm/ranch.
