Service management workshops will focus on profits, customer satisfaction
RVDA
New speakers and longtime experts will focus on increasing service department profits and improving customer satisfaction during the service and parts education track at RVDA’s convention/expo. Newcomers Budd Blackburn and Jodi Urquhart will join recognized industry expert Chuck Marzahn and others as they discuss controlling fixed-ops costs, increasing sales in the service lane, mining existing data to find new leads, ensuring good customer experiences, and more. The convention takes place Nov. 2-6 at Bally’s in Las Vegas.

LKQ to acquire Coast Distribution System in $29 million deal
Nasdaq.com
LKQ Corp. has reached an agreement to acquire Coast Distribution Systems, a distributor of replacement parts, supplies and accessories for recreational vehicles, for $5.50 per share in cash or approximately $29 million. Coast's board of directors unanimously recommended the offer. The acquisition is currently expected to close in the third quarter of 2015.

Stream weavers: Inside the Airstream factory

The author was in the mood for an adventure, so it was off to Ohio to visit one of the country's most iconic symbols of the great American road trip: Airstream travel trailers. Every weekday at 2 p.m., the factory — which was originally a bazooka gun plant during World War II — welcomes the public for a free tour. Out front is a rotating display of vintage Airstreams, including the singular gold model that belonged to founder Wally Byam. Airstream got its name from Byam's remark in 1932 that "they cruise down the road like a stream of air."
