Not only has there been a noticeable increase in luxury spending, sales have risen in a few key supersized categories, including RVs.

Lippert grows on RV wave of 'optional' equipment becoming expected
The Elkhart Truth
With the recent regrowth of the RV industry — up 13 percent for the year through May, after growing 13.2 percent in 2012 — Lippert Components of Goshen, a giant among RV suppliers, has seen a lot of growth and plans to keep expanding. Since Elkhart-based Heartland RV added the Lippert Level Up automatic hydraulic leveling system as an option on the Sundance travel trailer in January, every unit sold has included that option.

Rallies, caravans and RV shows
By Ronald E. Jones
There are three types of gatherings for RVers: rallies, caravans and RV shows. A rally is a planned gathering of a group of RVers, usually with some common interests. Caravans are commonly organized tours operated by a commercial company or organization. RV shows are events where dealers and product vendors gather to show off their products. Each has its own unique features, and I recommend you try them all. There are several good reasons to go, even if you’re not a "joiner."

An RV trip can put the vroom back into camping
Fox News
Let's face it — camping with little kids isn't easy. No fridge. No bathroom. No air conditioning. And it's certainly no fun in a tent when it rains. Camping can be a great adventure, especially when the kids are a little older. But even the most committed backpackers opt for RVs when their kids are small.

Traveling Utah's Heritage Highway by motorhome offers a slower, more scenic, homespun look at the state
The Oregonian
Highway 89 from Fairview on the north end to Big Water on the shore of Lake Powell in the south has been designated the Utah Heritage Highway to promote tourism in the small Mormon settlements and other cultural heritage spots that straddle the road. The highway runs parallel to Interstate 15, which is the preferred north-south route through Utah. But for travelers with time on their hands, the slower, more scenic Highway 89 offers a homespun look at the state. It's an easy, gentle drive, even in a vintage motorhome.

7 easy ways to increase your income with past customers
By Sydni Craig-Hart
Studies consistently show that clients who have purchased from you once are likely to do so again if given the opportunity. And since acquiring new customers costs five to 10 times as much as retaining an existing one — and the average spend of a repeat customer is a whopping 67 percent more than a new one — it's an efficient use of time to pick up the phone and check in with old clients.

Sou'wester Lodge to host variety of vintage travel trailer rallies
Coast Weekend
The historic Sou'wester Lodge will host a variety of vintage travel trailer rallies this summer and fall. Restoring and showing off vintage travel trailers has become almost as popular as hot rod shows over the past decade, and the changing face of RVing has become increasingly younger as the lure of the open road and being able to bring one's own accommodations has risen in popularity.

Ways to exercise in your RV
Green Valley News
If you're hitting the road this summer in a motorhome, throw in a few well-chosen pieces of exercise equipment along with the barbecue, lawn chairs, books and bikes. One of the challenges of RVing is how to exercise when you no longer have that fully-equipped fitness center just down the street. For northbound snowbirds whose summer lodging doesn't include a fitness center, these suggestions work well.

Just how many RVs will you see on a cross-country trip?
The Elkhart Truth
That question had a surprising answer on a recent trip from Colorado to Indiana. While driving along the Interstate highways, RVs naturally catch the eye of someone from north central Indiana, since 83 percent of all recreational vehicles in North America are built in and around Elkhart County. Keeping a tally of every RV along the way showed a surprising trend.
