This tailgating set-up is pretty impressive
KUSA-TV
It took 10 years on the wait list before Billy Burt finally got season tickets to the Denver Broncos. He immediately started tailgating from the back of a lowly pickup. Now, more than 30 years later, the pickup has been replaced by a motorhome, and his set-up includes tables with seating for 18 adorned with long-stemmed wine glasses, glass plates, and silverware. There's a shaded porch, lots of plants, a small waterfall and a grill loaded with enough T-bone steaks to feed a small army.

More vacationers hitting road in rented RVs
The Columbus Dispatch
First-time RVers Charlie and George Lesko figured that renting a motorhome for a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC, would cost less than airfare and a beachfront hotel. And, in spite of gas costs and a tiny bathroom, the family liked it so much that they're already planning their next trip. The growing number of vacationers who are choosing RV rentals is spurring rental dealers to expand their fleets.

A new golden age for 'silver bullets'?
NPR
Airstream travel trailers bring to mind the golden age of camping. But they're popular in the modern era, too: The company's trailer production is at its highest level since the 1970s, and travel trailer sales this year alone are up 33 percent. In short, the retro design is still in style. "You see an Airstream out in the desert, or you see one in a forest in a campsite, and it just looks like it belongs there,” says Weldon Matheson, who quit his regular job so he could turn his hobby of restoring Airstreams into a fulltime business.

Camping: Many participants live at Grange fairgrounds for the week
Centre Daily Times
If there’s one constant to the Grange Fair in Centre County, PA — now in its 140th year — it's the camping. Every year, a small town's worth of people settle in for more than a week of tent and RV living at the fairgrounds. The 1,000 tents and 1,500 RVs house an undetermined number of people. Some families have been coming for several generations to partake in the amusement rides, livestock shows, concessions, and concerts.

Author Brad Herzog and his wife Amy have RVed across the country every summer for 15 years, seeing over 150,000 miles on their life-changing journeys. Of the more than 30 books he's written, three have been memoirs of his family's travels." One of my favorite things about driving an RV is the big windshield in front of me," he says. "It's like there's a big movie of America playing in front of me, and any time I want, I can stop the film and enter the picture, and that’s an amazing feeling I wouldn't trade for anything."
