GE Capital: RV dealers and manufacturers see increased sales and consumer enthusiasm
The Motley Fool
RV manufacturers are seeing double-digit growth and RV dealers are selling through products at an increasing rate, says GE Capital, Commercial Distribution Finance. Despite harsh weather in the spring that affected retail activity in some regions, RV dealers are turning their inventory at a healthy rate of more than 2X. "As the U.S. economy continues to experience slow and consistent growth, growing consumer confidence is spurring retail sales of RVs," says Tim Hyland, president of CDF's RV group. "We expect that the industry will remain on a growth trajectory through the 2014 selling season."

Watch for the northern lights
By John Mosley
If you're a reverse snowbird spending the remainder of the summer in the cooler northern states or Canada, watch for the Northern Lights. This year and next are the best times to see them until after the year 2020, because we're now at the peak of an 11-year solar cycle. RVers have an advantage in enjoying the lights — we can simply move our homes-on-wheels to the north, where we're more likely to see them. They occur when electrically charged particles from the sun hit Earth's upper atmosphere and cause the air molecules to glow.
