Bipartisan effort to reform CFPB lending guidance continues in Congress
RVDA
A new bipartisan bill introduced in Congress this week would strike down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) guidance on vehicle lending and require more transparency and accountability from the agency on future guidance. The measure is sponsored by U.S. Reps. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) and Ed Perlmutter (D-CO). The bill (H.R. 5403), called “The Reforming CFPB Indirect Auto Financing Guidance Act,” would allow the agency to reissue its guidance using a more transparent process.

What does it take to win back a customer?
Fox Business
When a customer isn't happy with your product or service, it can be tough — but not impossible — to win that person back. First, respond promptly, since the vast majority of customers say they wouldn’t change their negative opinion of a company if it didn't act quickly enough to remedy a bad experience. And don’t respond with one-size-fits-all platitudes. Make your response fit the individual and the circumstances.

Nostalgia makes people spend more, study finds
Small Business Trends
A recent study supports something that marketers and business owners have instinctively sensed — nostalgia sells. Not only is nostalgia persuasive in marketing messages, but it also actually makes customers willing to spend more. A research paper published in the Journal of Consumer Science found that thinking about the "good old days" can make perspective customers more willing to part with money. In contrast, people were less willing to spend when thinking about the present or the future.
