From sold-out hotels to massive sales of RVs, the annual RV Open House keeps getting better and better. More than 4,000 visitors, mostly dealers, came to the Elkhart County area last week for the event, where 2015 models were on display at manufacturing sites and the RV/MH Hall of Fame. "In 2 ½ days, we at least did a billion dollars’ worth of business," said Doug Gaeddert, outgoing RVIA chairman and a group general manager at Forest River.

Habitat for Humanity RV Care-Vanners to visit Lewes Sept. 24

RV Care-A-Vanners is a volunteer program for RVers who want to build Habitat for Humanity houses and have fun doing it. This week, Sussex County, DE, Habitat for Humanity welcomes Diane and George Gravlee, Care-a-Vanners who have made it their mission to build on Habitat projects in all 50 states. This visit marks their 49th state. After this, they’ll head for North Dakota to complete their mission.

GMC motor homes take over Chippewa Valley

Larry Weidner knew that he wanted a GMC motorhome the first time he saw one. The vehicle's green color didn’t appeal to him, but he loved the design of the classic motorhomes that were built from 1973-78. Weidner bought his 12 years ago and spent the next three years rebuilding it. Now he and his wife travel to GMC rallies like the upcoming one in northern Wisconsin, which is expected to draw fellow owners from as far as Australia and Europe.

Bigelow rolls out tea truck for cross-country tour

Online RV technician intro course is available immediately

A one-month, online introduction program for RV technicians begins Monday, Sept. 22, and will prepare participants who successfully complete the courses to test for certification as a technician or master certified technician.
