RV lifestyle: Join the crowd
The Florida Times-Union
Visitors at the upcoming St. Johns County Fall RV Show will see many lighter-weight motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels and tent-campers — part of a trend that began in 2010 when manufacturers responded to the economic downturn and higher gas prices. Both new and used RVs of all types will be on display during the free event, the first to be held in Northeast Florida during the fall.

Joe Andrick, general manager of RVDA member Dick Gore's RV World in St. Augustine, has been pushing a fall RV show within the chapter for a number of years. "I just feel that Northeast Florida can support a fall show," Andrick says. "There are lots of RV enthusiasts who live in the area, and I think we'll attract people who are interested in the RV lifestyle but wouldn't make the drive to the Jacksonville Equestrian Center to check out our big show in February."

Maine man plans 5-month RV trek for perfect retirement home
Kennebec Journal
Chris Harnish is fishing his way into retirement. He's leaving on a five-month journey in a motorhome rigged out with a special front bumper guard designed to minimize damage should he run into large animals — caribou, moose, deer and big armadillos — or even other vehicles. And it's also packed to the gills, pardon the pun, with 17 rods and reels and assorted fishing paraphernalia.

A lifetime of decoration fascination shifts from Barbies to RVs
Walla Walla Union-Bulletin
Sheila Hagar loved interior decorating from an early age, adorning her Barbie house with crayoned wallpaper and tablecloths made from material scraps she took from her grandma's sewing table. She grew up and married a man with an RV, and suddenly she had a new venue to decorate. Next thing you know, the former bachelor's hangout was sporting bright rugs and cheery wall paper.

Valdez proves to be a real treat in Alaska
By Jerri Grubb
The summer of 2012 my husband and I, along with another couple, drove to Alaska. One of my favorite spots in Alaska was Valdez. We spent several days there, the weather was wonderful, and the scenery was beautiful. From Anchorage, the drive to Valdez was breathtaking. There was an awesome scene around every turn. In Valdez we could see the harbor and snow-covered mountains from our campground. There was a road just outside of town where we could observe bears, sea lions, otters and eagles, while the fishermen hauled in salmon from the harbor.
